Growing Information Bright, indirect light is ideal for Dischidia platyphylla. Avoid direct sunlight as it can scorch the leaves. Water sparingly, allowing the soil to dry out between waterings. Overwatering can lead to root rot. Use a very well-draining potting mix, such as an orchid or hoya mix. Moderate humidity levels are preferred. Mist occasionally if the air is too dry. Temperature: Keep the plant in a warm environment, ideally between 60°F to 80°F (15°C to 27°C). Care and Cultivation They thrive in humid, tropical environments and are often found growing as epiphytes on tree trunks and branches. Prefers bright, indirect light. Direct sunlight can be too intense, especially in the afternoon. Water sparingly, allowing the soil to dry out between waterings. Overwatering can lead to root rot. Use a well-draining soil mix, such as a blend of orchid potting mix, perlite, pine bark, and peat moss. Prefers some humidity, reflecting its rainforest origins. Consider using a humidifier or placing the plant in a humid room, such as a bathroom, if there is enough light. Feed with a balanced, slow-release fertilizer once a month during the growing season. Hoyas can take several years to bloom, and they often produce flowers on the same spurs year after year so don't remove the spurs when flowers drop! The flowers are nocturnal, opening at night and releasing a sweet fragrance. Hoyas are relatively low-maintenance and make excellent houseplants for those who enjoy fragrant, beautiful blooms.
Ships in a 5.5” pot like shown in the pictures. This listing is for the EXACT item in the pictures. We put great care into packaging our plants but due to the nature of the items shipped, it is possible for leaves or stems to bend or break in transit. Broken stems can be replanted after the open wound heals/dries to make two plants. Hoyas are very good at that! If your plant arrives rotting or dead, If your plant arrives rotting or dead, we will replace it for you if we can or give you a refund if we cannot. Please contact me within 24 hours of delivery of your plants. It is my duty to get you a live healthy plant- a few broken leaves not counting as this is normal. After 24 hours, my job is done and it is up to you (The buyer) to know how to keep it alive.
Heat packs are available for purchase with your item to use if cold weather is expected at the time of shipment. (Link to Heat Pack: bit.ly/40ugd4J ) Keep in mind some plants we carry are very tropical and even cold, not freezing, temperatures can kill them. I will cancel any order I feel won't make it safely to its destination without freezing. 📌IF YOU EXPECT COLD WEATHER, PLEASE PURCHASE A HEAT PACK! 📌 I don't make any profit off of them because they are a necessary shipping item in winter.
