Product Description
This particular plant is a Huernia stapelioides hybrid. Its small flowers are dark red, almost black.
Huernia stapelioides is a succulent native to South Africa and Swaziland. It forms clump- or carpet-forming stems that are four-angled and short, ranging from 2 to 5 cm in height. The stems have firm spines and aciculate tubercles. The plant produces striking tubular flowers with narrow, circular bands of dark red running the entire length of the tube. The corolla lobes are yellow-red, mottled, and end in an acute point. Flowers are profuse after good rains in summer (December-January). The fruit is a fusiform (spindle-shaped) follicle that releases seeds attached to their own parachute (pappus) for wind dispersal

Origination: South Africa, Swaziland
Recommended Uses: Ornamental, Collectable
Height: Ground Cover
Hardiness: USDA 10+
Flower Color: Dark Maroon/Red

Growing Instructions:
Prefers full sun to partial shade. It thrives in strong light but should be protected from the harshest midday sun. Requires typical succulent watering—allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings. Overwatering can lead to root rot., Use a well-draining cactus or succulent mix. Adding perlite or sand can enhance drainage. Thrives in warm temperatures, ideally between 15°C to 27°C (60°F to 80°F). It does not handle frost well and should be kept indoors in colder climates. Moderate humidity levels are preferred. Mist occasionally if the air is too dry

Ships in the 3.5” pots shown in the pictures. You will receive a plant that is very similar to the plants pictured however they may have grown some or depending on the time of year, they could be semi-dormant. Some plants will drop their leaves in winter - Crown of Thorns, Buddha Belly Jatropha, Etc. I have only grown plants in Florida and will send out anything I feel comfortable will grow here. It is up to you to know the conditions that these plants grow in the part of the country you reside. If your plant arrives rotting or dead, we will replace it for you. Please contact me with photo proof within 24 hours of delivery of your plants. It is my commitment to provide you with a live, healthy plant. Please note that minor cosmetic damage, such as a few broken leaves or small stems, may occur during transit and is a common risk inherent in the shipping process. Again, we cannot guarantee that some leaves won’t be broken or fall off- It is normal to lose some depending on the variety (Sedum, Echeveria, Cotyledon, Graptopetalum, etc...). Many kinds of leaves will re-root and grow into a new plant. Some that do not are Cotyledon and Aeonium. After 24 hours, my job is done and it is up to you (The buyer) to know how to keep it alive.

Heat packs are available for purchase with your item to use if cold weather is expected at the time of shipment. (Link to Heat Pack: bit.ly/40ugd4J ) Keep in mind some plants we carry are very tropical and even cold, not freezing, temperatures can kill them. I will cancel any order I feel won't make it safely to its destination without freezing. 📌IF YOU EXPECT COLD WEATHER, PLEASE PURCHASE A HEAT PACK! 📌 I don't make any profit off of them because they are a necessary shipping item in winter.
