Scientific Name: Sedum Pachyphyllum
Family: Crassulaceae
Product Description
Sedum pachyphyllum, commonly known as Jelly Beans or Many Fingers, is a delightful succulent that's easy to grow and care for. It forms compact rosettes of thick, fleshy leaves that are bluish-green with reddish tips. The leaves are club-shaped and measure up to 1.6 inches (4 cm) long. Initially grows upright to about 12 inches (30 cm) tall, then trails and spreads to form a ground cover. Produces yellow star-shaped flowers in summer, which appear in clusters on erect or reflexed flower stalks. Sedum pachyphyllum is a great addition to any succulent collection, perfect for rock gardens, containers, or as a ground cover.
Origination: Mexico
Historic Uses: Ornamental, Collectable
Height: 1Ft
Hardiness: USDA 8b+
Flower Color: Yellow
Other Names: Many Fingers
Growing Instructions:
Prefers full sun to partial shade. It thrives in bright light but should be protected from intense midday sun to prevent leaf burn. Requires well-draining soil, such as a cactus or succulent mix. Adding perlite or sand can improve drainage. Needs typical succulent watering—allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings. Use the "soak and dry" method. Hardy in USDA zones 8b to 11b (15°F to 50°F or -9.4°C to 10°C). Not cold hardy, so it's best to plant in containers if you live in colder regions. Easily propagated from leaves or stem cuttings. Allow the cuttings to callous over for a day or two before placing them on well-draining soil. Avoid overwatering to prevent root rot. Signs of overwatering include yellowing, soft leaves, and a mushy stem.
